Public Bachata Events#

Someone about a week ago (Today is January 14th), made a calendar for all Bay Area Bachata Events!!! Go check it out. I list out my thoughts down here for most of the events.

Find out where to dance bachata in the bay area! Events are mainly posted on Eventbrite by organizers with instagram pages. Facebook is for losers. Let me know if I forgot about an event!

Weekly Classes#

Baychata Sensual Academy#

• They have Polish instructors on visa living here to teach bachata sensual
• Really really good
• SF & SJ locations

• They are such incredible & sweet people

San Francisco#

Friday nights at Bachata Lab#

• Beginner - advanced bachata moderna/sensual event. A lot of serious dancers go here.
• This is at a dance studio
• Crowd is young af

Friday nights at Space550#

• Very Beginner - some advanced
• This is at a bar. You will find those who aren't really into dancing.
• They play quite a bit of traditional music.
• Crowd is 28-50
• Also has a salsa & a cumbia room.

Thursday nights at Cigar Bar#

• Very beginner - some advanced
• This is at a bar. You will find those who aren't really into dancing.
• They play quite a bit of traditional music.
• Crowd is 28-50
• They allow cigars, so you will smell like smoke (I've never been, but this is what i've heard)

Tuesday Nights at Sensual Soiree#

• Beginner - Advanced. A lot of serious dancers go here.
• This is at an intimate place.
• They play very sensual music. Sometimes it has no bachata beat so it is difficult for beginners. But because this place is intimate, you shouldn't feel left out.
• Crowd is young af

Monthly Bachatamor#

• Beginner - advanced
• This is at a church. It is a huge venue. You can make your dances large.

Monthly Hello Bachata#

• Beginner - advanced
• Event is usually packed. Must adapt dancing game to small & sensual.

Penninsula#

Bachata Wednesday at Alberto's In Mountain View#

• Never been. I heard it's good.

South Bay#

Biweekly Studio M Bachata heat#

• They post these events on their Instagram story

Monthly Bachata Knockout#

• Pretty Nice.
• Beginner - advanced

East Bay#

Once a month Saturday - Bachata Takeover#

• Intermediate/Advanced bachata moderna/sensual event
• Usually happens on a Saturday once a month and there's a two hour lesson beforehand that they fly in from incredible dancers from around the world.

North Bay#

• Everyone travels to San Francisco or East Bay to dance. I know someone from Santa Rosa who makes the commute A LOT.

Festivals#

There are dance festivals that happen once per year.
